Our Work

The NTIHC strategic plan focuses on increasing understanding of Sexual Reproductive Health Rights and access to appropriate youth-friendly services for young people. To achieve this a number of integrated approaches are employed 

Service Delivery

NTIHC offers a range of youth friendly sexual and reproductive health services to young people between the ages of 10 and 24 years. These services are offered at the NTIHC facility, selected health centers around Kampala, neighboring districts (Mukono, Kayunga, Luwero, Mpigi, Wakiso, Nakaseke, Butambala and Gomba districts) and through outreaches to most at risk communities. Advocacy

NTIHC aims to raise awareness and understanding of rights among diverse target groups (e.g. the general public, young people, service providers, government), as well as raising understanding of government policies, service standards and guidelines related to young peoples’ health particularly SRHR. Read more

Behavioral Change Communication

With a high percentage of the young population making poor health decisions. NTIHC offers a range of BCC interventions  to promote behavioral change among young people to prevent poor health outcomes. These include:  health discussions/talks, distribution of IEC materials, toll free helpline, audiovisual edutainment materials.   Read more

Capacity Building

Our capacity building and development initiatives aim at establishing and strengthening youth friendly responsive services for SRHR of young people. These initiatives include technical support supervision, trainings, mentorship and coaching and provision of a practicum site for practitioners of ASRHR. Read more

Conducting Operational Research

NTIHC also does operational research for strategic planning and academic purposes. Both undergraduate and post graduate students interested in ASRHR from recognized institutions all over the world of the country conduct research at this centre. Read more

 

 

Partnerships and Collaborations

At NTIHC, we value partnerships and collaboration thus our work is supported by and often done in partnership with government ministries especially the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MoGLSD) and Ministry of Education and Sports. In addition, NTIHC has well established relations with a number of development partners, CSOs and including NGOs, CBOs, FBOs, PNFPs, Corporate bodies and individuals.   Read more
